Congratulations to the Grimsby Griffins Root 8 Girls U14 team for winning
the 2019 NSL Cup with a victory of 1-0 in the final game versus Club Roma.
Goalie, Myah Blouin, faced 1 shot all day which is a testament to our defense consisting of
Katie Weninger, Jada McLaren, Elise Sawyer, Opal Silverthorne and Carly Flora.
Our midfield ran hard all game. Izzy Mumford, Larissa Ruggiero, Bella Walker, Ella Macqueen,
Mya Stancati and Camryn McColl-Silveira constantly broke up attacks that Roma tried to launch.
Bojana Mraovic scored the game winner and
Lara Simic, and Rylar Melander ran hard all day at the Roma defense.
Another great season!
